EP delves deep into the 1990s and 2000s alt-rock.
Please Use Right Excuses has just released the EP entitled "Pure Quarantine", the power-trio is highly influenced by the 90s and 00s alt-rock bands like Nirvana, Pixies and The Vines.
Please Use Right Excuses conveys in its compositions an "outburst and purity". Their music makes political criticisms in some lyrics while in others seeks to find a light and escape from the depressive melancholy of modern life.
According to the band, “the recordings were totally do it yourself, except for the backing vocals that were recorded in the studio”.
The band states that “the name of the album already speaks for itself, pure quarantine, by the way, 2020, what year!” Some compositions were made during the pandemic, while others were old songs but that fit with the moment.
The EP as a whole represents a little piece of what each person in this world went through (and is still going through) during this pandemic. The songs speak of various points such as anxiety, loneliness in times of pandemic and the loss of a sense of freedom. The album ends with a more dreamy song that represents those who dream that better days will come and who believe that there are still good people in this life.
