Renowned producer Mark Reeder joins force with Hong Kong based electro-rock band in an electrifying new single.
Formed in Hong Kong in 2013, the alternative electro-rock duo Deer (Deer Mx in most social platforms) has been growing their audience with participation in various festivals on the Asian Region, such as Clockenflap (HK), Sónar Hong Kong, V-Rox (RU), Soundrenaline (ID). Their performance, surrounded by a mysterious dark tone, pushes your ears to deeper emotional stages. Voice and music, at times aggressive, and others melancholic, provide a captivating experience.
After a couple of singles, the band released its first full-length album, “There’s no future”, in 2019. With nuances of downtempo, industrial, rock, and classical music, the has been well received by the European, Asian and Mexican media, obtaining a high score by South China Morning Post and Rolling Stone Mexico.
Now, for the second single of their album, they joined forces with producer Mark Reeder (who remixed New Order; Inspiral Carpets; The Cure), who provided three new mixes for the track “Dead Souls”. The post-punk hard-hitting pulse of the original track gives space to a darkwave atmosphere that perfectly fits the lyrical content of the song.
Deer – Dead Souls Tracklist:
1. Dead Souls (album version)
2. Dead Souls (Mark Reeder Fade Away Mix)
3. Dead Souls (Mark Reeder Not Fade Away Mix)
4. Dead Souls (Mark Reeder Not Fade Away Instrumental Mix)
